Hello Followers!
It seems as if I just got back from a week-long vacation in
Williamsburg, Virginia. Well, that’s because I did! Even though I’ve been back
for about two weeks, it feels like I’ve been back for about two months! This
all boils down to one thing…ANOTHER ROADTRIP!
| Becca & Lance at a friend's wedding |
At 6:00am on Sunday, May 20th Becca Maeder and I
will embark on an exhibition to the Atlantic coastal state of North Carolina. Earlier
in the year, Becca was on the hunt to find someone crazy enough to roadtrip
with her to Raleigh, NC so she could attend her cousin’s wedding. When I was
asked, it didn’t take long for me to respond with a “YES!” However, there was
one issue…she is a post college student, meaning she has student loan debt,
and I am digging myself deeper into debt because I’m currently in graduate
school. Becca having a degree in accounting and myself in business, there was
only one thing to do…set a goal for the trip. So that is exactly what we did!
It is our goal to make this week-long trip happen with only
$300/person to spend on gas, food, entertainment, and accommodations. Are we
crazy? Yes! Is it possible? YES! But how?!
| Couchsurfing.org check it out! |
Last July I got involved with this traveling community who
call themselves “Couchsurfers.” Yes…that’s right…Becca and I will be surfing
couches (aka. crashing at friends’ houses) as we make our way to the Raleigh.
With accommodations lined up, the car partially packed, and
two friends who live on a budget…we are ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
We invite you to follow us during our journey by reading this blog. Don’t
forget to leave us comments on the posts, provide us with suggestions about
places to see, or even show some creativity and think of a challenge to send us
on! Stay tuned!
Sincerely your favorite Iowan traveler,
Lance Husak
