Goodbyes were said, hugs were given, and we were on the road
by 9:30am heading west towards our destination…Indianapolis. However, we had to
make a few stops along the way and one was to a farmers market in Greensboro,
NC. For some reason every roadtrip I take…there is a definite need for stopping
at a local farmers market. This time I purchased kiwi jam. Who would have
thought about making a jam out of Kiwi?! People in Greensboro, NC…that’s who
LOL!

My philosophy is…take advantage of what is provided, and
that is exactly what I did with the hotel’s complimentary breakfast. Scrambled
eggs, Canadian bacon, tater tots, and a muffin found their place on my
breakfast plate this morning. Fully satisfied and coffee in hand it was time to
pack the car and prep ourselves for the 11 hour drive ahead of us.
This 11 hour portion of the trip took us through six states…North
Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. I have yet to
determine what I like better…Driving through flat Nebraska or driving through
the mountains in West Virginia? Mostly, I’m just surprised Becca’s car made it
through the day…we definitely put it through a workout! Good thing there are
not mountains in Iowa.
During the car ride, we listed to some Johnny Cash, read Men’s Health Magazine, and counted how
extensive our families were. (Becca I think was up to 84 with more on the way.)
By 9:00pm…we finally reached our destination of Indianapolis, IN. From there we
met up with Keith, who is a friend of Becca’s. One more 8 hour stretch and then
it is home sweet home!
