VIRGINA BEACH DAY!
Today we woke up and ate breakfast in our condo. It
consisted of Honey-Nut Cheerios, bananas, and bagels from Walmart…LOL! It was
our goal to be on the road headed towards VA Beach by 9am…and we officially
left our resort at 9:10am…not bad considering there are two Husaks traveling!
We reached VA Beach by 10:30am, ready to get out in the sand
and RELAX! But first we wanted to see America’s first government sponsored
lighthouse. I will say, today was the first time EVER I having my car searched
by the US Navy. Not because I did anything wrong, but because the lighthouse
was located within Naval Fort Henry. After we passed the car search, it was
time to head up to the lighthouse. Another thing which made this lighthouse
unique was that visitors could actually climb to the top! The view was AMAZING!
After the exhausting climb, it was time to hit the beach. We
were at the beach for roughly 3 hours. It doesn’t get any better than wading in
the Atlantic Ocean (the water was a little chilly but not too bad) and laying
out on the beach soaking up some Vitamin D!
Next it was off to the BOARDWALK! Since it wasn’t VA Beach’s
peak season, there wasn’t any entertainment; however, that was replaced by
workers prepping the area for the beach season. After several hours of walking
the walk and shopping the shops it was time to grab a bite to eat.
Since we were on the coast, was there any question in what
we were going to eat? FRESH SEAFOOD it was! We ended up eating at Nick’s, a
local seafood joint! All three of us had the all-you-can-eat flounder and
trout…BEST FISH I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME! Fully stuffed, it was time to head
back to Williamsburg and end our day.
Day four…Check!
