Williamsburg, VA Roadtrip - Day 2

BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ…6:00am…hello world!

Woooo-Hoooo another long day in the car on good ol’ interstate driving…. Fast way to get places but usually a boring ride…. So it was  time to get off  the interstate and  see the real country.

We took to the scenic route 60 and  took to the curves and hills of a good ol’ two lane highway…they  take a little longer, but at least you get to see some scenery up close. I  have never seen so many little towns so close together and the houses were small and packed in there like sardines...makes me appreciate my house on six acres  with my neighbors a little way’s down the road.   Boy I bet this area is pretty in the fall, lots and lots of trees.   We saw a waterfall along the roadside and a Grist Mill and more trees ha ha.

After taking a ton of pictures of the Grist Mill, it was time to find a spot to eat. We back to Route 60, turned to corner and ran into a small town called Rainelle. There was this restaurant called R & J's Restaurant...pretty original, but it had the best southern food Sunday buffet. Homemade deserts (PECAN PIE!), homemade sides (Pecan Sweet Potatoes), and homemade salads (Creamy Mac Salad).

We finally arrived at our resort in Williamsburg, VA around 6:15 pm, and boy was my rear happy about that-LOL...So far the vacation is off to a good start!

DH :)
